Vera lives with her husband and is a retired interpreter. She has a very active life and if she isn't out and about with friends, she can often be found in the swimming pool of her local gym, of which she is a member.

She regularly watches the shopping channel on her local satellite network and often buys the goods that are shown. She subscribes to home shopping catalogues that sell clothes and kitchenware, and frequently shops from them in order to save her a trip into town. Vera has an eye for a bargain and will take the time to listen to companies when they call her home so that she can keep up to date with the current cost of home improvements.
